Have you ever thought of a unique concept, but then wasn’t sure you could pull it off because it required a good amount of illustrative work and frankly speaking that intimidated you so instead you just pursued another design direction?

This session will walk you through systematic illustrative design methods you’ll be able to integrate into your own creative process. In the end you’ll be better equipped to pursue those design ideas that require an illustrative touch far more effectively, thus expanding your overall creative potential and skill set as a graphic designer.

About the presenter:

Von has worked in the communication arts industry for over 20 years. He now refers to himself as an “Illustrative Designer.” In 2002, he started Glitschka Studios, a multi-disciplinary creative firm.

His work reflects the symbiotic relationship between design and illustration, thus his modus operandi is that of a hired gun for both in-house art departments and medium to large creative agencies working on projects for such clients as Microsoft, Adobe, Pepsi, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Major League Baseball, Hasbro, Bandai Toys, John Wayne Foundation, Merck, Allstate Insurance, Disney, Lifetime Television and HGTV.

Von also teaches advanced digital illustration at Chemeketa College and operates the web site IllustrationClass.com where visitors can download tutorials documenting his illustrative design process on a variety of diverse project types.

He resides in the Pacific Northwest with his wife Rebecca, two daughters, two cats, three koi fish and a rubber gorilla named Maury.
